Detailed Introduction
Paclobutrazol is a triazole plant growth regulator developed in 1980s. It is an inhibitor of endogenous gibberellin synthesis. It can also increase the activity of indoleacetic acid oxidase and reduce the level of Endogenous IAA in rice seedlings. Obviously weaken the growth advantage of rice seedling top and promote the breeding of lateral buds (tillers). The appearance of seedlings is short and strong, with many tillers and thick green leaves. The root system is developed. Anatomical studies showed that Paclobutrazol could reduce the cells in roots, leaf sheaths and leaves of rice seedlings and increase the number of cell layers in each organ. Tracer analysis showed that Paclobutrazol could be absorbed by rice seeds, leaves and roots. Most of the Paclobutrazol absorbed by leaves remained in the absorption part and rarely transported outward. The low concentration of Paclobutrazol increased the photosynthetic efficiency of rice seedling leaves; High concentration inhibited photosynthetic efficiency, increased root respiration, reduced aboveground respiration, improved leaf stomatal resistance and reduced leaf transpiration.
